Custom Build Options
Make it yours.
Keep it Lewis.
Lewis custom builds use a focused collection of workshop-approved options. Choose the details that matter to you while keeping the instrument balanced, cohesive, and true to the original design.
Aging Levels
From nearly new to comfortably broken in.
Our aging is designed to feel natural and believable. The goal is character, not damage.
Closet Classic
A clean, well-kept appearance with subtle checking and only minor surface marks.
Light Aging
A few believable dings, small marks, and visible checking that give the guitar a gently played-in feel.
Medium Aging
More developed wear, checking, and character while still keeping the overall appearance tasteful and natural.
Every guitar ages differently. These images are reference points rather than exact replicas of the finished instrument.
Pickguard Aging
Clean or gently aged.
Pickguard aging is kept subtle so it complements the rest of the guitar rather than becoming the focal point.
Clean
Brighter, more uniform colour with no artificial aging or added wear.
Aged
Gentle yellowing, light surface scratches, and subtle handled wear that naturally complements an aged instrument.
Finish
Choose your colour.
Choose from the Lewis Colour Collection, a growing palette inspired by places, memories, and landmarks connected to Québec and the Ottawa–Gatineau region.
Every colour is sprayed by hand in thin nitrocellulose lacquer and will continue to develop its own character as the instrument is played.
Explore the Lewis Colour CollectionNeck Feel
How should the neck feel in your hands?
Choose between a traditional finished neck or our broken-in treatment, where the back of the neck is carefully worn and softened by hand for a smoother, played-in feel.
Broken-In
The back of the neck is carefully worn and softened by hand to reduce the slick factory-new feel and create the familiar touch of an instrument that has already seen years of playing.
Standard
A fully finished neck with a smooth, clean surface and the traditional feel of a new instrument.
Headstock
Natural or matching.
Depending on the model and finish, the headstock can remain natural or be painted to match the body.
Headstock aging can also be matched to the overall aging level of the instrument for a consistent appearance.
Pickguards
Small change. Big effect.
Pickguard colour has a surprisingly large influence on the personality of the finished instrument.
White
Classic and clean.
Parchment
Softer and slightly warmer.
Black
Strong contrast and a more graphic look.
Mint
A subtle vintage-inspired option.
Anodized gold is also available on selected models.
Pickups & Hardware
The details should belong together.
All Lewis pickups are wound in-house and voiced specifically for the model they are installed in.
Our hardware is polished to knock back the bright, factory-new shine and give it a softer, more natural appearance. The goal is not to make the hardware look damaged or heavily reliced, but simply to help it feel visually consistent with the rest of the instrument.
On aged builds, the hardware treatment is matched to the overall character of the guitar so everything feels like it belongs together.
